The past couple of weekends have been busy. Mary and her family moved into my parents new house. It has only been a week so far but it's awesome to have them less than a mile away. It's less than 2 minutes to their house now. I'll miss it when they have to move out but at the same time that means my parents are going to be there so that is just as awesome. Hopefully Mary and her family will find a home near here too.
Brad and I got Rock Band 2 for our playstation3. We were in Circuit City the other day and got a great deal on it. We are having fun playing in our new band we created "Nannerpuss" after the Denny's commercial that is on TV right now. Dawson is learning to sing and play guitar on it and is doing quiet well. He's on the easy level and getting an average of 60%--not bad for a 6 year old....and probably better than what I would be getting. It's a fun family activity.

The past month

Iris and I

I haven't updated my blog in over a month. I don't have a real excuse. January was a pretty slow work month for me. I got to catch up on my sleep which was great. Lori and Jayson had their beautiful daughter, Iris. She was born on Lori's birthday (Jan. 22nd.) Mary and her family are in the process of packing their rental house up and are moving next weekend to my parents new house they bought on the west side of town near me. I am looking forward to having them 3/4 of a mile away. Cora started saying "Brad" a couple of days ago. So she pretty much says: hi, bye, dad, and brad. It's pretty cute when she says it but I wish she was saying Betsy and Mary wishes she'd say mom.
Dawson is still doing a great job at school. He was sick for a couple of days but didn't miss school. He then got me sick and I've been fighting this sickness for over a week now. Brad is doing well. He is taking classes towards his Master's degree. I feel like it will never be over but hopefully by this summer his classes will be done and he will start his project. He just had his yearly celebration of the arts at work where a couple of his classes performed and did an excellent job. He really does a great job teaching music. He has some great students and parents that support his program. My job was to hand out See's chocolates to each person. It was a great job because it meant I got to try all 3 kinds they had (yum!)
Our living room is now finished and looks awesome! I should take a picture to post it on here. Penny (Brad's mom). It's all red and gold (not shiny gold) and just looks really modern and gives the room a wow factor that we wanted. I have enjoyed just sitting in there and reading. It's also nice to see people sitting in there when they come over--they feel like they can enjoy the room now.
